For specialized fleet management purposes, an optional Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) can be integrated with the Sentinel FM system to provide communication between fleet administrators and drivers through two-way text messaging. BSM Wireless has the ability to integrate with other fleet management applications. Past integrations have included TMW, TransPlus, Freightlogix, PermaTax and Route Optix.

The keyfob allows the driver to notify dispatch when they need assistance immediately. Examples are robbery, or when driver is injured or unable to drive. The keyfob also allows the driver to arm the vehicle as mentioned above. If the vehicle is armed and tampered with, the system can be programmed to react like a car alarm system: audio alarm, flashing lights, alert dispatch/police, etc…

Panic/Notification Button

The panic button is a vehicle installed system that allows the driver to notify dispatch or the police in the case that an emergency occurs and the driver is in the vehicle. The driver can press the according button and the alarms will be set off.

Vehicle Diagnostics

Integrate OBDII or J1708 Diagnostic data directly into your Sentinel FM solution. With Sentinel real-time reporting and the addition of engine data systems like the OBDII and J1708, users can receive odometer readings, receive reports on extreme or harsh braking, extreme or harsh acceleration, and monitor fuel consumption. Fuel consumption will be displayed in every standard message except for ignition off. It displays the amount of fuel consumed for a trip. With every schedule update within a trip the fuel consumption will keep increasing. By using the reporting system and the engine data, fleet managers can reduce fuel consumption and cost, as well as improve driver habits.
